Alex Rodriguez hit 41 home runs and knocked in 132 RBI during the 2000 season. This would be Rodriguez’s last season with the Mariners, the team that drafted him, before he joined the Texas Rangers in 2001 and then New York Yankees in 2004. Rodriguez finished his storied career with 696 home runs, 3,115 hits, and 2,086 RBI.
This Louisville Slugger I13 model bat was ordered by Rodriguez in 1999 and used by him during the 2000 season. This bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the barrel. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers, black bat rack streaks and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. There is a coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel and Mota Stick on the lower handle. Rodriguez has signed his name in blue marker on the barrel and inscribed “2000 Game Used”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17099) for the use. Please note that PSA/DNA has indicated that this bat was most likely ordered for batting practice use, but based on AROD’s inscription, it’s possible that this bat may have also been used in a game. Rodriguez’s signature comes with a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (H39769).
