Not only did Alex Rodriguez reach the 40-home run mark for the seventh time in his career in 2005, but he became only the second right-handed New York Yankee to achieve that feat – joining Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio. Rodriguez’s solo shot came off Mariners’ pitcher Jeff Harris in the top of the fifth inning.

There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers, cleat imprints and an impression of a weighted batting sleeve on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of Mota Stack on the handle. Rodriguez has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “Game Used”, “8-30-05 HR #40 2nd Yankee RHB 40+ HR J.D.”.
