The Yankees relief specialist was issued this bat for use during the Mother’s Day 2012 game. Rivera did not get a chance to swing it because just weeks earlier he had suffered a season-ending ACL injury during batting practice in Kansas City. Rivera defied the odds by recovering from surgery in time to play one last season before hanging up his spikes as the greatest relief pitcher the game has ever known. Rivera bats are exceedingly scarce, given his role as closer, along with playing in the American League.

Rivera’s game-issued Louisville Slugger C243 model bat is finished in Mother’s Day pink and carries the special ribbon stamping on its barrel. The bat is un-cracked and has the date of manufacture “04/20/12”, length “34.0” and weight “31.0” stamped into the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B0370).
