Presented is a lot of two framed artworks paying tribute to the former homes of the New York Yankees and the New York Mets baseball teams, Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium, respectively. Both stadiums closed after the 2008 Major League Baseball season. The first item in this lot is a multi-signed 16 x 20-inch color photo montage depicting the playing fields of Yankee Stadium on the left and Shea Stadium on the right. There is a graphic logo in gold, white and blue with the legend “1923-2008 Yankee Stadium” in the left center, with a graphic logo in orange, blue, white and black with the legend “Shea Stadium 1964-2008 Mets” in the right center. In five columns over the montage are the signatures, in black pen, of over 100 former Yankees and Mets players, coaches and officials, including Sandy Alomar, Don Baylor, Yogi Berra, Paul Blair, Wade Boggs, Larry Bowa, Melky Cabrera, Robinson Cano, Gary Carter, Chris Chambliss, Ron Darling, Ryne Duren, George Foster, John Franco, Oscar Gamble, Dwight Gooden, Ron Guidry, Keith Hernandez, Art Howe, Clint Hurdle, Tommy John, Davey Johnson, Ed Kranepool, Don Larsen, Jim Leyritz, Elliott Maddox, Kevin Mitchell, Phil Niekro, Joe Pepitone, Jimmy Piersall, Lou Pinella, Tim Raines, Bobby Richardson, Mickey Rivers, Steve Sax, Tom Seaver, Gary Sheffield, Moose Skowron, Duke Snider, Mel Stottlemyre, Roy White, David White and Don Zimmer. The autographed montage is mounted in a white paper matte with black border, set in a 22 x 26½-inch black wood frame. The second item in this lot is a 10 x 18-inch blue wood-framed display signed by over 40 former New York Yankees and New York Mets players. The original artwork depicts the skyline of New York City, with the Yankees logo and the Mets logo behind the skyline. Between the logos is the image of the Statue of Liberty, and above the Statue of Liberty is the image of a New York City subway coming out of a red apple. The signatures in blue ink on the white border include Joe Pepitone, Bob Turley, Dwight Gooden, Duke Snider, Monte Irvin, Dennis Rasmussen, Ryne Duran, Jim Gentile, Johnny Blanchard, Dennis Werth and Wally Backman.
