This Mickey Mantle Career ring is one of the most beautiful Mantle commemorative items ever produced. Created by Balfour, these rings were limited in their distribution to just 536 which was Mantle’s career home run total, and are styled like World Series rings. The 10K-gold ring features a large blue stone on the front, atop of which is Mantle’s number “7” inlaid with six diamonds. The ring is a size 10.5 and weighs approximately 42 grams. Outlining the facing of the ring, in raised relief, are Mantle’s name and the years of both his first and last seasons “1951” and “1968”. Displayed on the left shank is a rendition of Yankee Stadium, above which sits Mantle’s facsimile signature. Noted below the stadium design is the date of Mantle’s uniform retirement “#7 Retired 6-8-69.” The right shank features an elaborate design with five bats bearing engraved notations that commemorate many of Mantle’s career achievements. His greatest career achievement is noted prominently above the bats, “536 Home Runs.” All of the lettering and designs incorporated into the ring’s left and right shanks are done in raised relief. The ring, which is uniquely engraved “004/536” on the interior band, is also stamped with “BALFOUR 10KY”. This example is accompanied by its original 3.5 x 3.5 x 2 inch wooden presentation case.
