While many of Bryce Harper’s bats are customized with “Luke 1:37”, this bat carries “MONDO” on the barrel. “MONDO” is Harpers childhood nickname and it has been proudly stamped into this bat he wielded while playing for the Harrisburg Senators. It was the middle step in Harper’s quick ascent to the majors and the team’s batboy, knowing what a star the team’s young left fielder was destined to be, saved this particular broken bat. The Marucci BH34 bat shows heavy use and the handle has been cracked and secured. The barrel appears to have been cleaned but several ball and stitch impressions can be seen. “MONDO” is custom stamped on the barrel. A light coat of pine tar coats the upper handle and impressions from a weighted donut are visible. The knob has Harper’s bat spec’s imprinted: ““8/31/11”, “4”, “2” and number “34”. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B05286 is affixed to the cupped barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.5.
