A remarkable bat from one of the best pitching duels in playoff history. In the deciding Game 5 of the NLDS, the Cardinals faced the much favored Phillies in Philadelphia. Chris Carpenter defeated Phillies ace Roy Halladay in what turned out to be a 3 hit, 1-0 shutout. Albert Pujols, batting .350 in the series, went 0-3 but managed to get on base with a walk as the tense game came down to a single run. The two-tone Marucci AP5-M Custom Cut bat shows heavy game use with a cracked handle. The barrel exhibits many ball scuffs, stitch marks, blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. A light coat of pine tar is evident in the center area of the bat. Pujols has signed the bat in gold ink to match the Marucci markings and added “#5 GAME USED 11 PLAYOFFS”. MLB hologram number FJ 704323 and Pujols Family Foundation hologram affixed to the barrel.
