Each card has been graded by PSA. Presented is a 25-card complete set of N117 W.Duke Sons & Co. "Industries of the States" large-sized inserts released in 1889. With its 3.96 GPA, this assembly merits "#3 Current Finest" placement on the PSA Set Registry! Collectibles from this amazing production feature buxom and often dreamy-eyed young ladies, drawn in an allegorical style reminiscent of the day's revered Lady Liberty. All are leaning on large shields that proclaim each girl's American state allegiance; the cards' designs also incorporate – although the observer isn't inclined to readily notice – various printed legends denoting the types of commerce associated with the women's respective regions. The "Industries of the States" series, not surprisingly held dear by sentient modern enthusiasts (that is to say, those who have a pulse), unashamedly pictured a number of bare-breasted and semi-draped, nubile figures among its host of subjects, and was considered quite risqué in relation to the prevailing 19th Century standards. These splendid and scarce, lithographed pieces, here offered as a very seldom-encountered, 25-card full set, deliver sheer beauty that's guaranteed to enliven the most impressive holding of period inserts. Includes: Graded PSA EX 5: 5 cards w/CT, IL, LA, NJ, TN; PSA VG-EX+ 4.5: 3 cards w/MD, NY, RI; PSA VG-EX 4: 9 cards w/AL, IN, KY, MI, NC, OH, PA, TX, VA; PSA VG+ 3.5: 1 card, GA; PSA VG 3: 7 cards w/DE, ME, MA, MS, NH, SC, VT.
