Of all the high profile “clubs” in sports, the most impressive and star-studded is the “500 Home Run Club.” From 1876 to the present, only 27 players have reached that mark, and this impressive display collects 17 members of the ultra-exclusive club. This piece was created in the years before Barry Bonds broke Aaron’s record when there were but 17 players who reached 500: Aaron, Ruth, Mays, Robinson, Killebrew, Jackson, McGwire, Schmidt, Mantle, Foxx, McCovey, Williams, Banks, Matthews, Ott, Murray, and Bonds. All 17 members are represented by either a baseball card or Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcard that has either been signed or is mounted adjacent to a cut of their signature. This mix of styles and mediums add to the visual impact of this piece. The display has been attractively mounted and framed to 35” x 43.” The piece comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
