The New York Yankees finished second in the American League in 1933 with a record of 91-59. Though they didn’t capture the pennant that year, the Yankees were still a major force with its star-studded roster, having six Hall of Famers in their batting order and three in the pitching rotation. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig paced the offense, with each Hall of Famer hitting over 30 home runs, 100 RBI, and at least .304.
16 members of the 1933 World Series champion New York Yankees have signed this “College League Rubber Center” baseball. Babe Ruth’s distinctive signature appears on the sweet spot. Lou Gehrig has signed his name on the adjacent panel. Other signatures include Cy Perkins, Danny MacFayden, Russ Van Atta, Bill Werber, Ben Chapman, Earle Combs, Walter Brown, Ed Wills, Bill Dickey, Lyn Lary, Sam Byrd and others. All of the signatures have been penned in black pen. This ball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
