1977 was Bobby Murcer’s first million-dollar season which made him the first player in the history of the Cubs franchise to reach that pay grade. Despite pitchers pitching around him, Murcer belted 27 home runs and drove in 89 runs for the Cubs that year. Murcer’s 1977 Louisville Slugger S2L model bat shows great game use with a cracked handle. The barrel shows many ball marks and abrasions. The crack was once secured with tape, but this has been removed. The upper handle has some pine tar residue and the palm pad has been removed. The model number “S2L” has been stamped into the knob and “GAME” is handwritten in black marker. This may have been added post-career. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17838) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 7.
