“Dem Bums” finally broke through in 1955, when the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the New York Yankees to win the World Series. It was the first Series championship in franchise history, and was the fifth time in nine years that the Yankees and the Dodgers met in the World Series, with the Yankees having won in 1947, 1949, 1952, and 1953; the Yankees would also win in the 1956 rematch. It was the only World Series the Dodgers would win while they were in Brooklyn. For the first time in Series history, an MVP was selected—Johnny Podres, winning pitcher of Games 3 and 7. He was 2–0, both wins being complete games including the series-clinching Game 7 shutout and had a 1.00 ERA.

Presented is a limited-edition commemorative belt buckle celebrating the Brooklyn Dodgers 1955 World Series victory, manufactured by Jostens, in the original presentation box. The 2 ½ x 3 ½ -inch gold metal belt buckle bears the legend “1955 Brooklyn 4-3 Dodgers World Champions” engraved in raised letters. The Dodgers script logo is set over an engraved image of Ebbets Field. The back of the belt buckle has a clasp and hook, and the legend “Limited Edition 100/1955” engraved over the Jostens logo. The buckle is housed in a 1 x 4 x 6-inch green felt box with white silk lining in the lid; the lining has a gold printed “Jostens” logo.
