Joe DiMaggio’s accomplishments on the field were nearly all unprecedented at the time of his playing career, but even more-so DiMaggio's popularity during his career was such that he was referenced in film, television, literature, art, and music both during his career and decades after he retired.  He was known to have very particular taste and one that became well known was his collection of Longines wristwatches as opposed to other makes such as Rolex.  The Longines name on a watch has been a mark of luxury since 1832 when it first began producing high-quality Swiss timepieces. This early Electronic watch, model 7911, features all stainless-steel construction, is marked “Made in Japan,” and comes in the original case with the original price tag of $175! Accompanying this watch is a Letter of Provenance from Paula DiMaggio Hamra and Kathie DiMaggio Stein testifying that this watch was their grandfather’s.
