This offered Official American League Ban Johnson baseball has been signed by three Hall of Fame members of the 1927 Philadelphia Athletics – Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins and Zack Wheat. Only the legendary Murderer’s Row 1927 New York Yankees prevented the A’s from likely reaching the World Series. All three Hall of Famers batted over .300 with Cobb having a robust .357 average, Collins at .336 and Wheat with .324.
Both Cobb and Wheat have signed their names in faded black ink below the REACH stamp on the side panel with Collins signature running perpendicular to Cobb’s and Wheat’s signatures and running along part of the sweet spot. The signatures are light, but still readable. The ball displays toning and other age wear, but the stampings are still clear. A tremendous ball signed by early 20th century Hall of Famers and this comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A52496).
