Offered is a framed display celebrating the 373-game winner and Baseball Hall of Famer, Grover Cleveland Alexander that features a 1839-1939 Baseball Centennial First Day Cover signed by Alexander.  Alexander has signed his name in black pen “Grover C. Alexander” across the center of the 3½ x 6½ -inch white envelope, which has the red and blue printed illustration of the 1839-1939 Baseball Centennial logo and artwork above the legend “Cooperstown, N. Y. Birthplace of Baseball” with an illustration of the front doors of the Hall of Fame and an illustration of Abner Doubleday at the left. The 1939 United States Postal Service three-cent baseball commemorative stamp is in the upper right corner, and the stamp is postmarked “First Day of Issue Cooperstown N. Y. Jun 12 1939” in black ink.

Also featured in the framed display is an 8 x 12-inch sepia photograph of Alexander in his Phillies uniform and cap. In his rookie year, 1911, Alexander led the National League with 28 wins (a modern-day rookie record), 31 complete games, 367 innings pitched, and seven shutouts, while finishing second in strikeouts and fourth in ERA. From 1912 to 1921, Alexander led the league in ERA five times (1915–17, 1919, and 1920), wins five times (1914–17, 1920), strikeouts six times (1912, 1914–1917, 1920), complete games five times (1914–1917, 1920), and shutouts five times (1915, 1916 [a single-season record 16], 1917, 1919, 1921).[2] He won pitching's Triple Crown in 1915, 1916, and 1920. In 1915, he was instrumental in leading the Phillies to their first pennant, and he pitched a record five one-hitters. In 1915, he won his first World Series game (the opening game of that series), for the Phillies. It would be 65 years before the Phillies won another World Series game. Phillies won another World Series game. The Alexander signed first day cover and portrait photograph are mounted in a gray paper matte with navy-blue borders and displayed in a 17 x 27-inch black and brown wood and glass frame. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
