Presented is a lot of over 160 First Day Covers featuring single-signed and multi-signed items, including signatures of National Baseball Hall of Fame players Sandy Koufax, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Ken Griffey Jr. and more. The first item in this lot is the signatures of Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr. in black pen in the center of a 3½ x 6½ -inch white commemorative envelope with an illustration of the father and son at the left, in Seattle Mariners uniforms, with the caption “Ken Griffey Sr. & Jr. Father/Son Combo”.  The 25-cent stamp is postmarked August 31, 1990 Seattle, Washington. There is a one-paragraph summary of August 31, 1990 game in which the Griffey’s became the first father/son duo to play together on a Major League Baseball team. The second item in this lot is a Frank Robinson signature in black pen on a Baseball Hall of Fame induction commemorative First Day cover, postmarked August 1, 1982 in Cooperstown, NY (the day Robinson was inducted). This item also includes a Hank Aaron signature in blue pen.

The third item in this lot is a Bo Jackson signature in blue pen on a 1989 All-Star Game commemorative First Day cover with a 25-cent Lou Gehrig commemorative stamp and a postmark from “All Star Station, Anaheim, CA” dated July 11, 1989. The fourth item in this lot is a Willie Mays signature in blue pen on a commemorative First Day cover for his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, postmarked August 5, 1979 at Cooperstown, NY. The fifth item in this lot is a Hank Aaron and A.B. Chandler signed commemorative cover marking Aaron’s induction in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Aaron has signed his name in blue marker, while Chandler has signed his name in black marker. The 20-cent stamp is postmarked August 1, 1982 at Cooperstown, with an illustration of the front page of the New York Daily News headlined “715! Henry Does It” in brown. The sixth item in this lot is a multi-signed commemorative cover with the signatures of Baseball Hall of Famers Willie Mays (in blue marker) and Willie McCovey (in black marker). The baseball stars have signed their names on a Willie McCovey 500 Home Runs commemorative, postmarked Atlanta on June 30, 1978 (the date McCovey hit HR #500 against the Atlanta Braves).

The seventh item in this lot is a multi-signed First Day commemorative cover with the signatures of Baseball Hall of Famers Sandy Koufax and “Pee Wee” Reese in blue pen, celebrating Reese’s induction into Cooperstown (postmarked August 12, 1984 at Cooperstown). The eighth item in this lot is a dual-signed commemorative cover with the signatures of Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays in black marker, and former Atlanta Braves slugger Bob Horner in blue pen. The cover commemorates Horner hitting four home runs in one game, becoming only the 11th player in Major League history to do so, and the first since Willie Mays. The 22-cent stamp is postmarked July 6, 1986 at Atlanta (the date when Horner achieved his feat). The ninth item in this lot is a second copy of the eighth item, with the signature of Willie Mays in blue marker and the signature of Bob Horner in blue pen. The 10th item in this lot is a commemorative cover for the 1988 US Olympic Baseball Team, featuring the signatures in blue pen of 20 members of the Gold Medal winning team that included Jim Abbott, Tino Martinez, Mickey Morandini, Charles Nagy and Robin Ventura. The 11th item in this lot is a commemorative cover for Gaylord Perry’s 300th victory, signed by Baseball Hall of Fame pitchers Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro, Steve Carlton and Warren Spahn.

Additional items in this lot commemorate historic games or performances, as well as stadium and event anniversaries, Baseball Hall of Fame inductions, and First Day covers for commemorative stamps. Notable signatures include Baseball Hall of Fame players Nolan Ryan, Rickey Henderson, Dale Murphy, Joe Sewell, Willie McCovey, Warren Spahn, Early Wynn, Don Sutton, Rod Carew, Lou Brock, Lou Boudreau, Brooks Robinson, Robin Yount, Johnny Mize, Ernie Banks, Steve Carlton, Al Lopez, Phil Niekro, Carl Hubbell, Bob Feller, Bob Gibson and Harmon Killebrew, as well as Pete Rose, Don Baylor, Ben Ogilvy, Steve Garvey and others. There are multiple signatures of many figures, including former Baseball Commissioner A. B. Chandler. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
