Led by a balanced run game of Tony Boles (839 rushing yards, nine touchdowns) and Leroy Hoard (832 yards, six TDs), coach Bo Schembechler’s Michigan Wolverines squad finished with a 10-2 overall record during the 1989 season, including a perfect 8-0 mark in the Big Ten Conference. Michigan featured a stifling defense, which held opponents to just 15.3 points per game.

Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 1989 Michigan Wolverines football Big 10 champions ring, featuring the team’s letter “M” on a large blue stone. “ROSE BOWL 1989 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS” reads around the bezel setting. One side is centered by an image of a Rose, with “MICHIGAN BACK TO BACK” shown at the top. The bottom of the ring pays tribute to Schembechler, as this would be his final season, having coached Michigan from 1969-1989. A Wolverines helmet centers the opposite side, with “ANDERSON” above and “DR TEAM” below. Some wear is apparent to this ring. “© JOSTENS 10K” appears inside the band of this approximate size 10 ring with the weight approximately 32.6 grams.
