As a prelude to the 2014 FIFA World Cup, soccer-mad Brazil hosted the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup - a tournament bringing the champions from each of FIFA’s six confederations to stadium’s in six cities across Brazil. The hosts dominated the tournament, winning all three group stage games before dispatching Uruguay in the semifinals. A matchup against Spain in the finals was a nightmare for La Roja, with Brazilian striker Fred scoring just two minutes into Brazil’s eventual 3-0 win. Golden Ball-winner Neymar scored in the 44th minute and Fred added a second two minutes after the second half began. This was Brazil’s fourth Confederations Cup victory.

Offered in this lot is a 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup trophy originally presented to Brazilian Football Confederation employee Alexandre Silva Da Silveira. The trophy is gold in color, with a soccer ball atop a golden stem and a black and blue base. Six crests, bearing the initials of each confederation, are located on the base of the trophy. A gold “FIFA Confederations Cup” plaque is attached to the base, while “FIFA Confederations Cup / Brazil 2013” is printed on the base in white lettering. This trophy comes in the original presentation box and is accompanied by a LOA from Da Silveira.
