The 1934 Cubs recorded a respectable 86-65 record under player/manager Charlie Grimm, finishing in third place, eight games behind league leading St. Louis. All four future Hall of Famers on the club posted impressive numbers that season: KiKi Cuyler (a team high .338 average), Billy Herman (.304), Chuck Klein (.301), and Gabby Hartnett (.299 with a team high 22 home runs and 90 RBI's). Lon Warneke led the club on the mound, posting 22 wins (third best in the league) with a 3.22 ERA. The 1930's represented one of the Cubs' finest decades as the team regularly finished in the first division and captured three pennants during that time.

23 members of the 1934 Chicago Cubs have signed their names on this “Regulation League Ball” stamped baseball. Handwritten in black pen by an unknown hand is “July 31 1934”. All of the signatures have been signed in black pen and display very boldly despite the age of this ball. Manager Charlie Grimm signed his name on the sweet spot. The east panel, which has a “J.A. DUBOW” shield stamp has the signatures horizontally of Hall of Famers Gabby Hartnett and Chuck Klein, plus Pat Malone, Charlie Root, Roy Joiner and Lon Warneke. The west panel with the “HORSE HIDE COVER” stamp has the signatures of Woody English, Tuck Stainback, Bud Tinning, Mike Kelly, Bennie Tate and Guy Bush.

The north panel has the signatures, signed horizontally, of Babe Phelps, John Corriden, Augie Galan, Hall of Famer Billie Herman and Riggs Stephenson. The final panel, the south panel has Don Hurst, Babe Herman, Bill Lee, Jim Weaver and Hall of Famer Kiki Cuyler. This ball is in excellent condition given its age and the bold signatures will make this a beautiful presentation piece. This multi-signed baseball comes with a LOA from SGC.
