After making a name for himself in Chicago as one of the most feared relief pitchers in the game, Lee Smith moved over to St. Louis from Boston and began a tremendous period in which he set the record for most saves in a season and cemented his claim on a plaque in Cooperstown. The Louisville Slugger C243 model bat shows great game use with several prominent ball marks on the barrel along with abrasions and black ink transfers. The is a light coat of pine tar on the handle and Lee’s number “47” is handwritten on both ends in black marker. The bat’s specs are also handwritten in black pen on the knob. The newest Hall of Famer has signed the barrel “Lee Arthur Smith #47” in strong black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (G55936) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9 and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
