Curt Schilling used this bat the season before he emerged as one of the best pitchers in the National League. 1991 was Schilling’s sole season with the Astros where he went 3-5 with a 3.81 ERA. Traded to the Phillies after the season, Schilling went on to win over 200 games and play in six All-Star Games. The Louisville Slugger C243 model bat shows good use with a handle crack. There are several prominent ball marks and leather scuffs with ink transfers on the barrel. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and Schilling’s number “19” is handwritten on both ends in black marker and he has signed the barrel in blue marker adding, “91 ASTROS.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17734) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a  LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
