The 1971 All Star Game was the 42nd All Star Game since its inception in 1933 and was played at Tigers Stadium in Detroit. The American League won by a score of 6-4 with Frank Robinson taking the MVP honors. The National League squad was stacked however as it featured several members of the year’s World Championship squad from the Pittsburgh Pirates such as Willie Stargell, Dock Ellis, Manny Sanguillen and Roberto Clemente all of whom have signed the baseball except for Clemente. The team’s other stars who signed include Hall of Famers Juan Marichal, Willie McCovey, Hank Aaron, Joe Torre, Lou Brock, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Carlton, Sparky Anderson, and Johnny Bench. Bobby Bonds and Rusty Staub are some familiar stars who are also on the baseball as well. The ball offers 26 stars and although showing some toning throughout, still has a strong overall presentation value. The Official National Charles S. Feeney Baseball comes with a full LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
