In just his third big league season Rickey Henderson led the AL in a trio of offensive categories: run, hits, and of course, stolen bases. This was just a warmup for the next summer in which Rickey would break Lou Brock’s single-season stolen base record. Henderson’s 1981 season-used Adirondack DD26 model bat shows tremendous game use. The finish on the barrel is worn away from use and several ball marks can be seen. The cupped end has some chipping and the handle has a light coat of pine tar present. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in silver adding his number “24” and year “1981” in silver marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17844) for the game use and a COA from JSA (P11248) for the signature.
