Cal Ripken, Jr. was the undisputed star of the Orioles by 1990. His bat coupled by his flawless fielding made him one of the AL's most exciting players. At the time this bat was used by him, Cal was joined on the O's by his father Cal, Sr., a coach and his younger brother Billy - in fact both Ripken boys hit 28 doubles that summer, tying for the team lead. Cal’s 1990 Louisville Slugger P72 model bat displays good game use. There are several ball marks with ink transfers visible on the barrel along with bat rack paint streaks. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and The Iron Man has signed the barrel in blue marker adding, “HOF 2007.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13895) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5 and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
