"Practice Hard." If there was ever a statement that defines Derek Jeter it would be those two-words. Most every player who makes it as far as the major leagues has a rare, natural ability that enabled them to emerge from among the millions of boys playing Little League, distinguish themselves from the thousands in high school and college and become one of the mere hundreds that put on a big league uniform and step out onto the field. But it is the ones who take that natural ability and hone it by, as Derek Jeter inscribed on this bat, “"Practice Hard."

This 2005 Louisville Slugger P72 model bat was game used by Jeter, who then signed the barrel in contrasting silver marker and added the words of advice that made him the superstar that he became. That season he used this bat, 2005, saw the Yankees star not only winning his second consecutive Gold Glove Award but also coming in second in the AL in runs. The bat shows good game use with several ball marks and cleat imprints visible. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13175) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5, plus a LOA from Derek Jeter via Steiner Sports, authenticating this bat's use and signature.
