After spending his first 11 full seasons with the Oakland Athletics, former slugger Mark McGwire was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals at the trade deadline in 1997. McGwire was already having an outstanding year with the A’s with 34 home runs and 81 RBI, and in the 51 games for the Cardinals to close out the season, hit 24 home runs and drove in 42. Big Mac’s Rawlings MAC25 model bat displays excellent game use with a cracked handle. There are several ball marks with ink transfers visible on the barrel along with bat rack paint streaks. The knob has been stamped with the bat’s specs and “33 McGwire” handwritten in blue pen and a light coat of pine tar applied to the handle. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13211) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5.
