This vintage Reach League ball contains eight signatures of baseball legends including Hall of Famers Charles Albert “Chief” Bender and Leon Allen “Goose” Goslin as well as Rube Walberg, Bing Miller, Lew Krausse, John Quinn, Ira F. Thomas and Lena Blackburne. Philadelphia Athletics stalwart pitcher Bender’s signature is signed “Chief” C.A. Bender in crisp blue ball point pen, grading ("8"). Goslin’s signature, isolated on a side panel is signed in fountain pen black ink with some fading and grades a ("3"). Red and blue stitched ball (with blue fading to white) is caramel colored with signatures ranging from grades ("3-8"). Comes with full PSA/DNA letter of authenticity, cert number T05551.

NOTE: THIS ITEM WAS INCORRECTLY DESRIBED IN THE CATALOG WITH REGARDS TO TWO PLAYER NAMES. THE NAME DESCRIBED AS "RUBE WALKER" IS ACTUALLY RUBE WALBERG, AND THE NAME DESCRIBED AS "FRANK THOMAS" IS NOT THE FORMER PITTSBURGH PIRATE AND 1962 NEW YORK METS SLUGGER, BUT IRA F. THOMAS. EXCEPT FOR GOSLIN AND BLACKBURNE, ALL PLAYERS ON THE BALL ARE PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS PLAYERS. HOWEVER, BOTH GOSLIN AND BLACKBURNE GREW UP AND LIVED IN SOUTH NEW JERSEY, RIGHT OVER THE RIVER FROM PHILADELPHIA, AND IS LIKELY THE REASON WHY THEY APPEARED ON THIS PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS THEMED BASEBALL.
