One of the greatest talents in this history of the game, Alex Rodriguez wasted no time making an impact when he was called up as an 18-year-old in 1994. By 1997, his second full season in the Majors, Rodriguez earned his second all-star selection and finished the season with an even .300 batting average.       

Offered is one of the jersey Rodriguez used during the 1997 season. This white button-down sleeveless Seattle Mariners’ jersey features “MARINERS” sewn across the chest in navy, teal and silver tackle twill. The Russell Athletic size 44 tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail and a “1997” tag is sewn below. Navy soutache surrounds the collar and runs down both sides of the buttons. The back of the jersey has “RODRIGUEZ” sewn on in navy and teal tackle twill on a matching white name plate, with his number “3” sewn on in navy and teal tackle twill. Also included in this lot are AROD’s matching white game pants. Also manufactured by Russell Athletic, these size 35 waist pants have a single navy piping down each side leg. These pants display moderate to heavy game use with dirt stains and team repairs present. Rodriguez has signed his name in black marker on the upper right thigh and inscribed “1997 Game Used”. These pants come with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A52516). Both the jersey and pants come with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190924C11) for the game use.
