Aptly nicknamed “The Franchise” and/or “Tom Terrific,” Hall of Fame hurler Tom Seaver remains the player most readily associated with the New York Mets. Earning Rookie of the Year honors for the last place Mets in 1967, Seaver was there through good times and bad winning his first Cy Young award for the World Series champion “Miracle Mets” of 1969 and again with the “Ya Gotta Believe” National League pennant winning 1973 team.
This offered New York Mets cap was worn by Tom Seaver during the 1976 season. This all-blue cap is a New Era size 7 3/8 hat that features the Mets’ interlocking “NY” logo embroidered in orange on the front. Seaver’s number “41” is handwritten in black marker on the green underside brim. The inside of the cap has a tan leather head band with the New Era tag and size “7 3/8” flag attached to the band. This hat displays light game use and is good overall condition. This hat comes with a LOA from MEARS for the game use.
