As good as the 1927 Yankees were, that hallowed squad was only the first installment of a back-to-back World Championship dynasty. After beating back a late-season onrush by the Philadelphia Athletics, the 1928 Yankees met and wrecked the St. Louis Cardinals in the Fall Classic. For the second year in a row, Ruth & Company swept the National League’s best, further cementing their reputation as one of the greatest teams ever to take the field.

27 members of the vaunted 1928 World Series Champion New York Yankees have signed their names on this Official American League Ernest Barnard baseball. Babe Ruth and owner Jacob Ruppert have signed their names on the sweet spot, each signing their name in black steel tip fountain pen. Other signatures on the ball include Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Leo Durocher, Bill Dickey, Pat Collins, Tony Lazzeri, Waite Hoyt, Ben Paschal, Mark Koenig, Bob Meusel, Fred Heimach, Tom Zachary, Mike Gazella, Myles Thomas, Benny Bengough, Rosy Ryan, George Pipgras, John Grabowski, Joe Dugan, Cedric Durst, Hank Johnson, Art Fletcher and others. Please note that the signatures of Tony Lazzeri and Waite Hoyte are faded. This baseball comes with a LOA from JSA.
