Hall of Famer Ernie Banks retired in 1971 as a player, but still stayed active with his beloved Chicago Cubs. While he wasn’t an official coach, Banks would be a presence during spring training and in 1975, he wore this offered Cubs home jersey.
This Chicago Cubs home with blue pinstriped pullover jersey features the iconic Cubs logo patch sewn on the upper left chest. A white “75” patch is sewn on the front left tail and the Cubs bear patch is sewn on the left sleeve. This jersey was manufactured by Wilson and is a size 42 as indicated by the tagging on the inside back collar. The inside collar also has the team tag that reads “14 75 Set 2 42”. The round collar and sleeve ends are capped with a blue ribbed material and Banks’ number “14” is sewn on the back in blue tackle twill. The jersey displays moderate use with some stains and toning. “Mr Cub” has signed his name in blue marker on the bottom front left tail. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190924C9) for the use and a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (U77517) for the signature.
