Fast and lean, the early Barry Bonds was the Pittsburgh Pirates lead-off man in the late 1980's. Credited with adding life to a depressed and tired Pittsburgh franchise, Bonds' 1988 season saw him batting .283 and matching his uniform number with 24 home runs. The Pirates finished the season with an 85-75 record, which was good enough for second place in the NL East.

Bonds wore this size 44 Rawlings road Pittsburgh Pirates pullover jersey during the 1988 season. This jersey has “PIRATES” and Bonds’ “24” sewn on the front in black and yellow tackle twill. The Rawlings tag, along with the “SET 1 1988” flag is sewn on the inside front left tail. The back of this jersey has “BONDS” sewn on in black and yellow tackle twill on a matching gray nameplate and the number “24” is also sewn on in black and yellow tackle twill below the name. The sleeves and collar are have black/yellow/black stripping patterns the left sleeve has the Pirates logo on a yellow diamond patch sewn on.
