United States midfielder Michelle Akers was issued this red and navy long-sleeved jersey during the qualifying tournament in advance of the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. Akers led the United States to gold in the inaugural Olympic women’s soccer tournament at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. While Akers played with the team during qualifiers, the former University of Central Florida All-American retired from soccer before the tournament began. Akers ended her career with over 150 caps and 107 goals, as well as a pair of FIFA World Cup trophies and myriad other international honors.
This offered Nike jersey is red with navy sides and underarms. Akers number “10” is applied in white to the chest and back, while a USWNT crest and a white Nike swoosh are also located on the chest. “AKERS” is applied to the back shoulders in white. A star is embroidered on the end of the right sleeve of this size “L” jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA signed by Michelle Akers. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue & Outreach Inc.
