The Yankees returned to their pre-war winning ways by grabbing the 1947 pennant with a cobbled together team of aging vets and nondescript journeymen. Helmed by veteran manager Bucky Harris, the team was led by Joe DiMaggio and Phil Rizzuto and a pitching staff of 21-game winner Vic Raschi and 17-game winner Allie Reynolds. The Yanks would hold off Boston by a single game before beating Jackie Robinson and his Brooklyn Dodgers in seven games for the Championship. 19 members of the 1947 World Champion Yankees have signed this Reach Official American League Cronin ball including Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio and Phil Rizzuto plus manager Bucky Harris, Joe Page, BoBo Newsom, Frank Crosetti, Spud Chandler, Stuffy Sternweiss, Johnny Lindell, Al Clark, George McQuinn, Karl Drews, Aaron Robinson, Specs Shea, Bobby Brown, Sherm Lollar, and Jack Phillips. The ball shows light toning from age and blue pen signatures display nicely. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (BB34277) for the signatures.
