The 1990 Cincinnati Reds were a deep, well-balanced team led by offensive stars Barry Larkin, Eric Davis and Paul O’Neill, and starting pitchers Tom Browning, Jose Rijo and Jack Armstrong. However, it was their bullpen – namely, the “Nasty Boys” trio of Rob Dibble, Randy Myers and Norm Charlton – that stole the show. Those three relievers were dominant, as Myers recorded 31 saves with a 2.08 ERA, Dibble saved 11 games with a 1.74 ERA, and Charlton won 12 games (splitting time as a starter) with a 2.74 ERA. In the postseason, the Reds beat Barry Bonds and the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NLCS before sweeping the 103-win Oakland Athletics to win the World Series.
24 members of the 1990 World Series champion Cincinnati Reds have signed this 1990 World Series baseball. Signatures include manager Lou Piniella (on the sweet spot) and Hall of Famer Barry Larkin; Billy Hatcher, Norm Charlton, Luis Quinones, Mariano Duncan, Paul O’Neill, Joe Oliver, Scott Scudder, Eric Davis, coach Sam Perlozzo and Glenn Braggs. This baseball comes with a LOA from JSA.
