Before he was California governor and U.S. president, Ronald Wilson Reagan served as head of the Screen Actors Guild, Inc. This 3-page, typed contract between the Artists’ Managers Guild and the SAG settles a dispute between the two parties over calculating “gross receipts of the agent of commissions from actors.’ Dated January 2, 1952, the document exhibits Reagan’s signature in blue fountain pen, grade 9. The SAG secretary, John Dalesh, Jr. signs below Reagan. To the left, the president of the AMG signed above AMG’s secretary, the renowned playwright, Arthur Miller, who has signed in black fountain pen. His signature grades 9 - 10. A COA (#6972) from University Archives verifying the Reagan signature accompanies the item. Comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
