Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits.

Randolph used this 25 ½ inches long, 20 inches wide and 10 inches deep dark blue wood traveling suitcase during his rookie season in 1976. This case is still in good condition, showing use wear and abrasions on the outside. The Yankees’ interlocking “NY” logo is printed in white on the on the upper left corner of the front and the top has three gold plated clasps for securing the contents. On the inside is a black leather covering to protect clothing that is still intact. There are two brown leather straps that are attached but broken. A white baggage identification sticker has Randolph’s 1977 information on the top where the clasps are located. Randolph has signed this suitcase in silver marker to the right of the Yankees logo and inscribed “1976 Rookie Suitcase”. This item derives from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany this item.
