After playing just a single year of minor league ball in the Cardinals farm system, Albert Pujols ran away with the 2001 National League Rookie of the Year award. The future member of the 600 Home Run Club mashed 37 longballs in his rookie campaign, adding 130 RBI and a sky-high .329 batting average for the 93-69 Cardinals. Albert’s rookie season SAM JB1 model bat shows good game use with several prominent ball marks with white leather scuffs visible on the barrel. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and Pujols’ number “5” is handwritten on both ends in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17427) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5.
