Presented is a lot of two Kirby Puckett signed contracts from the Baseball Hall of Fame centerfielder during the period 1984 to 1987. Puckett played his entire 12-year Major League Baseball career for the Minnesota Twins (1984–1995). The first item in this lot are four Kirby Puckett signatures in black pen on a July 30, 1984 contract with the Autographed Ball Co. of High Point, North Carolina. Puckett has signed his name on the contract in four locations as samples for use on a souvenir autographed baseball. The 8 ½ x 11-inch white paper contract is laminated. Puckett’s major league debut with the Twins came on May 8, 1984, against the California Angels, a game in which he went 4-for-5 with one run. That year, Puckett hit .296 and was fourth in the American League in singles. This item comes with a COA from JSA (EE83138).

The second item in this lot is a Puckett signature in black pen on page two of a two-page licensing agreement with Sportsmark for photo posters of the player, dated April 24, 1987. The two-page document was produced on a dot matrix printer and has a hole in the top center of the second page. In 1987, the Twins reached the postseason for the first time since 1970 despite finishing with a mark of 85-77 (a mark that would have put them 4 games behind fourth place New York in the American League East). Once there, Puckett helped lead the Twins to the 1987 World Series, the Twins' second series appearance since relocating to Minnesota and fifth in franchise history. For the season, Puckett batted .332 with 28 home runs and 99 RBI. Although he hit only .208 in the Twins' five game AL Championship Series win over the Detroit Tigers, Puckett would produce in the seven-game World Series upset over the St. Louis Cardinals, where he batted .357. The item comes with a COA from JSA (EE83139)
