Offered in this lot is a 2002 FIFA World Cup Final Match Award presented to the Brazilian Football Confederation. Brazil took on Germany in the final game of the 2002 South Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup at Yokohama’s International Stadium. The game was a tense, scoreless affair for the first 67 minutes until Brazil forward Ronaldo knocked home a rebound spilled by German Golden Ball winning goalkeeper Oliver Kahn. Ronaldo scored the second and final goal of the game 12 minutes later, capitalizing on a brilliant run by Kleberson and an intelligent dummy by Rivaldo to slot home his second. This was Brazil’s record fifth World Cup title and Ronaldo took home the Golden Boot with eight goals. This match award comes with a LOA from Marcos Moura Teixeira, an official with the Brazilian Football Confederation.
