The prodigious Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino wore this Miami Dolphins road uniform during the 1980’s. A product of the Pitt Panthers football program, Marino was the first quarterback to eclipse 5,000 passing yards in a season, throwing for 5,084 yards and a then-record 48 touchdowns in 1984, his second year in the NFL. Marino led the NFL in passing yards five times, making nine Pro Bowls and the First Team All-Pro team three times. Marino played through the 1999 NFL season and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
The jersey offered in this lot is teal, with Marino’s number “13” printed on the chest, back, and sleeves in white and orange. “MARINO” is printed in white lettering on the back of the jersey over a matching teal nameplate. The sleeves are accented with white-orange-white striping. Marino has signed the “1” digit on the back of the jersey in black marker. The pants in this lot are white, with an orange belt attached. Teal-orange-teal striping runs down the legs of the pants. This lot comes with a STICKER ONLY from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication Services (N25424).
