Offered here is a photograph signed by the Hall of Fame slugger Babe Ruth. The first great power hitter in baseball history, Ruth crushed 714 home runs during his 22-season career spent with the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Boston Braves. Ruth won seven World Series titles during his career, with the first two rings coming when Ruth was one of the prominent power pitchers in baseball for the Red Sox. Ruth’s popularity transcended baseball and became an American icon before and even after his passing in 1948.

This vintage sepia-toned 3 ½ x 5 ½-inch photograph has been signed in bold blue pen across his famous follow-through swing. Ruth is pictured in his home white pinstriped Yankees’ uniform from the waist up, looking off-camera diagonally to his left. Ruth’s iconic signature is pristine having been graded a near-perfect MINT 9 by Beckett Authentication Services. This photograph was signed in 1947 as Ruth was know to personally respond to autograph requests via the mail and included with this photograph is the original 3 ¾ x 5 ¾-inch envelope with a “NEW YORK, NY OCT 21 1947” postmark addressed to an “Ernest R. Hartrangh (sic) 218 East Pine Street Ephrata, Penna.” The back of the envelope has handwritten “G.H.R. 14A 110 Riverside Dr NYC NY”. The envelope displays toning and a vertical crease. This photograph has encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett Authentication, which graded Ruth’s signature a MINT 9. Additionally, there is a LOA from JSA (Y08610).
