Graded MINT 9 by BVG. Rookie Card. To honor those troops serving and fighting overseas in the first Gulf War, Topps created a “Desert Shield” set to be distributed to the soldiers serving in Saudi Arabia, but many of the cards never made the trip overseas due to their being scooped up by military personnel stateside. As there were approximately only 6,500 sets produced, complete sets are tough to attain as the cards were only distributed in wax packs. The key subject in this production is the Chipper Jones Rookie Card which is here offered. The card's BGS condition report: Centering: 9, Corners 8.5, Edges: 9, Surface: 9. Mint condition.
