Long time N.Y. Penn League/minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees (1967-1998) located just 17 miles from Cooperstown, New York, the city of Oneonta has a storied baseball history dating back to the 1920s. This PSA pre-certified collection of checks made out by the Oneonta Athletic Corporation from 1972-1997, includes checks paid to a great cross-section of MLB alumni like Bob Feller ($250 on August 4, 1980) and Dock Ellis ($75, July 30, 1988), employees like Terry Whitfield (203.20, June 30, 1972), Wm “Buck” Showalter ($189.00, 6/16/85), and Ricky Ledee ($25, 8-30-93) as well as umpire Nestor Chylak ($125.00, 2-5-77) and Clown Prince of Baseball Max Patkin ($75, August 25, 1976). Most of the checks are signed by members of the Nader family that owned and operated the team from 1967-2009.
