The Brazilian National Soccer Team stormed to victory at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa. The defending Confederations Cup champions overcame a resilient United States team that surprisingly jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 27 minutes through goals from Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey. Brazil began to gel in the second half, however, as Luis Fabiano scored in the 46th and 74th minutes to tie the game. A thundering headed goal from center back Lucio off a corner kick in the 84th minute proved to be the game winner, with Dunga’s XI lifting the trophy after a back-and-forth 90 minutes. Offered in this lot is a winner’s medal from the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. Etched in high relief on the front is “FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP SOUTH AFRICA 2009” and the Confederations Cup trophy. Etched in high relief on the back is “FIFA”. This medal comes with a LOA from the Team Soccer Coordinator.
