Below the sweet spot is a head and shoulder portrait of Mantle wearing his New York cap, hand-carved into the leather of the ball by renowned sports artist Gregg Packer. Mantle played for the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968 and hit 536 MLB career home runs and batted .300 or more 10 times. Mantle won the Triple Crown in 1956, when he led the Major Leagues in batting average (.353), home runs (52), and runs batted in (RBI) (130).
