This offered bat was used by The Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. during the last stretch of his 2,632 consecutive games played streak. During the 1991-1997 period, Ripken won his second AL MVP Award, and the first of two All-Star Game MVP Awards. This Louisville Slugger model P72 shows excellent use with a crack in the upper handle. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are on the barrel along with blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and Cal’s number “8” has been written on both the knob and barrel end in silver marker. The Iron Man has also signed the barrel in contrasting silver pen, completing a real choice game used bat from the owner of baseball’s longest playing streak. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06006) for the game use and have graded this bat a solid GU 8.5, plus a LOA from JSA (Y39848) for the signature.
