Presented is a lot of 14 magazines and publications signed by former US Soccer women’s national team standout midfielder Michelle Akers. Akers starred in the 1991 and 1999 Women's World Cup and 1996 Olympics victories by the United States. The first item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the U.S. Soccer 1995 Media Guide. Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “USA” below her signature on the front cover, which features a photo of her and two teammates, Mia Hamm and Carin Gabarra.  The second item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front cover of the U.S. Soccer 1996 Summer Media Guide. Akers has signed her name in gold marker and inscribed “USA” after her signature.  The third item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front cover of the U.S. Soccer 1996 Summer Media Guide. Akers has signed her name in gold marker and inscribed “#10” and “USA” after her signature. The fourth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription, “#10 USA” in black marker on the front cover of the U.S. Soccer 1996 Media Guide.

The fifth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription over an action photographer of the former U.S. midfielder on the front cover of the July/August 1998 issue of NSCAA Soccer Journal (Volume 43, Number 4). Akers has signed her name in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The sixth item in this lot is a pair of Akers signatures and inscriptions on the September/October 1999 issue of Soccer Magazine. Akers has signed the front cover of the “World Cup Commemorative Issue” in black marker and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, over a photograph of the post-game celebration of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team at the 1999 Women’s World Cup. She has also signed her name and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her name on page 24 of the issue, which is a full-page profile of the women’s soccer star.

The seventh item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front cover of the December 20, 1999 issue of Sports Illustrated. The cover features the members of the 1999 U.S. Women’s National team that won the 1999 Women’s World Cup, celebrated as the “Sportswomen of the Year.” Akers has signed her name in silver marker on the bottom across the photo, and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature. The eighth item in this lot is an Akers signature and inscription on the front cover of the 1998 U.S. Soccer Yearbook. Akers has signed her name in black marker, and inscribed “#10 USA” alongside her signature, and “1998 Teams/Stats” below her signature.
