One of the University of Michigan’s most famous alums was the 38th President of the United States Gerald Ford. Ford played for the Wolverines’ football team from 1932-34 where he played center, linebacker and long snapper. Ford was apart of the undefeated teams of 1932 and 1933 that won back-to-back national titles. Ford has signed this offered University of Michigan game helmet. This helmet displays heavy game use with possible attribution to the 1989 season, based on the safety sticker attached on the inside of the helmet. This classic Michigan helmet has the traditional maize and blue colors with the classic winged design. Ford signed his name in black marker on the front of the yellow portion of the wing, above and just to the left of the RIDDELL padding that holds the screws mounting the front of the navy facemask. A wonderful signing from a former president who was a great player at Michigan. This comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (F06715).
