Offensive Lineman, Mike Munchak was taken by the Houston Oilers in the first round of the 1982 NFL draft out of Penn State University. His 12-year career with the franchise included nine Pro-Bowl appearances, 10 All-Pro selections, and selection to the NFL’s All-Decade team. Before he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001, Munchak assumed coaching duties for the Oiler/Tennessee Titan franchise, where he is currently head coach. The 100% polyester, size-50 jersey has signs of heavy use, including tattered lettering and numbering, although all graphics are intact. A cloth patch is stitched under the lip of the “6” on the jersey back. The mesh jersey has white, elastic side and underarms. “MUNCHAK” is appliqué in Oiler blue across the back shoulders on a nameplate. The number “63” is appliqué in blue, trimmed in red on front, back and shoulders. The collar’s white cloth tag is embroidered in brown with “AS WORN BY AMERICA’S TOP TEAMS,” “50,” a scripted “Russell Athletic” and washing directions. It is embroidered in gold with the “R” anchored by “RUSSELL.” The tag is torn from the collar at the upper left. An LOA from Memorabilia Evaluation and Research Service attesting to the jersey’s authenticity accompanies this item (#312574).
